‘On Hattersley’, the internet TV news show produced by Hattersley & Mottram Community Media’s volunteers earlier in the year, is now available on DVD and there is a free copy available for everyone who took part.
All the volunteers involved in producing the show have been given a copy and we have managed to get copies to some of the people who were interviewed but we know we haven’t made contact with everyone.
Some of the Hattersley and Mottram residents involved in the Pixelate initiative joined people from other areas of Greater Manchester, at the beginning of May, for the launch of the Pixelate Exhibition at the Waterside Arts Centre in Sale.

Residents jumped right in at the deep end when the Pixelate project kicked off at the Cyber Cafe on 19 February.
Artist Richard Ramchurn, introduced the people taking part in the project to the key elements of the industry standard cameras being used for filming, while artist Claire Bleasdale led the Hattersley presenters, in waiting, through exercises to help their confidence while in front of the camera.

Hattersley & Mottram Community Media's internet TV project received a boost this week when it was announced that the project would receive a grant of £5,822 from the National Lottery's, Awards for All grant scheme.
The Pixelate project intends to increase the creation of new media content in Greater Manchester, through supporting projects in Salford, Rochdale, Wigan and, of course, Tameside.
Hattersley & Mottram Community Media was chosen as the Tameside project, after submitting a proposal to develop the work already taking place through the Community News. HMCM will produce a series of online news broadcasts on local issues and features, chosen by the people who live in Hattersley.
A group of residents, interested in getting involved in the different aspects of producing the broadcast, went down to Lets Go Global for the project launch in July.
