Hattersley Development Plans take a bashing

August 2010
New development plans, for the site of Hattersley's new community facility and the Tesco’s, have taken a bashing from government watch dog CABE! CABE is a statutory body, sponsored by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport but also funded by Communities and Local Government, set up to provide expert independent design advice to improve the quality of what gets built in England.

Peak Valley Housing Association - Investment Plans next phase

August 2010
We have become aware of an event being organised by Peak Valley Housing Association regarding the next phase of their investment plan for Hattersley, which is taking place at Hattersley Community Centre on Tuesday 24 August from 10.30am till 6.30pm

Unfortunately we are unable to tell you anything more about this event as we have received no information about for it, either for the Hattersley & Mottram Community News or our website. We contacted Peak Valley Housing Association’s local office on Tuesday 17 August to ask if they could provide us with some background information on the event and we were advised we would receive something the next day.

Hattersley Skills Audit Report

June 2009

Much of the activity going on in Hattersley around jobs, training and enterprise has been directed by the Hattersley Skills Audit, which was conducted in 2007.

The Hattersley Skills Audit survey was commissioned by Hattersley Neighbourhood Partnership (HNP), the area’s regeneration vehicle. HNP’s Jobs, Training & Enterprise theme group developed an action plan from this report.

To find the full final report, and the executive summary click the link ‘read more’ below, where you will find them as attachments. There is also a link to download the reports appendices, although this does not contain the list of consultations. Neither HNP or WM Enterprise Consultants, who were commissioned to do the work, can find this list.

If you would like to know more about the Skills Audit or the Hattersley Jobs, Training & Enterprise theme group give Hattersley Neighbourhood Partnership a call on 0161 368 2096.

Peak Valley... Have your say

April 2008

Tenants of Peak Valley Housing Association are in the process of being invited to "Have their say" about the services they receive from their landlord

As Peak Valley are looking at what you think of their service now, we thought this would be a good time to look back and see what was being said by Manchester City Council, in their Hattersley Housing Transfer offer document back in 2003 before the transfer took place.

The Housing Transfer offer document, was part of the formal stage one consultation that was a requirement before there could be a vote of Manchester City Council tenants in Hattersley, to decide if their properties would transfer to Peak Valley.

Hattersley's Regeneration

Hattersley has been in the process of regeneration since 1997 and there have been some substantial changes. But there is still much to do. Here's an overview of the core government funding that has been pumped into Hattersley since 1997. But as many of you will know, particularly those of you who understand the nature of regeneration funding, this isn't the whole story.

1997- 2004 Single Regeneration Budget

£4.7 million was invested through Hattersley Development Trust. The Trust, which was initially developed as a community led organisation, was established to bring about improvements to the local area. Allthough the current nature of the Trust is somewhat confusing, it clearly still owns Kingston Arcade, the 60's built shopping centre and an area of land on Underwood Road in Hattersley, both purchased from Manchester City Council.

We moved to Hattersley in November 1965. What a lovely place with lots of open spaces and beautiful scenery.
