About Us
Welcome to Hattersley & Mottram Community Media online
Welcome to our website, the home of Hattersley & Mottram Community Media (HMCM) online. We are a community enterprise set up, initially, to support the continued production of the Hattersley & Mottram Community News.
While HMCM isn’t a name widely recognised in the area, the Hattersley & Mottram Community News is deeply rooted in the community. Since establishing HMCM as a company, we have been able to develop the work that we do and are now more involved in a wide range of community activities and offer many more services, which you can find out all about in ‘The Work’ area of our site.
As well as providing the opportunity to tell you all about what we do, our website had been designed to support the development of a vibrant online virtual community, to equal the real life Hattersley community.

You can request a Community Photographer, discuss the area, talk about the regeneration or tell us what we can do to improve the Community News and make it a more interesting read.

HMCM working to support the Community News
Hattersley & Mottram Community Media (HMCM) is about information, providing it and then supporting people to make the most of it, which we do through every medium available to us.
HMCM is the home of the Hattersley & Mottram Community News. Grass roots Citizen Journalism at its best, the Community News gives local people the opportunity decide on the news they want to read by being the people that produce it.
The Talking Community News, means people who can’t make the most of the Community News because of a visual impairment or lack of literacy skills don’t miss out on all the news and activities promoted in the 
Josie, Chambers Court Co-ordinator, supporting residents at our Senior Surfers internet sessions newspaper.
We love to take on the work that challenges barriers. During 2007 we provided IT courses, at community venues, to the senior residents living in Hattersley. It proved to be a great success and something we hope to develop further in the future.
