In this issue of the Hattersley & Mottram Community News we report on our 'Experience This' event. The purpose of the event was to mark our 100th edition, produced last month, and to thank the 300+ volunteers that have worked with us since the Community News was first produced in January 2001.

Everyone who has volunteered with us, either working on the Community News or for our organisation H & M Community Media (HMCM), had the opportunity to win one of the fantastic experiences donated by organisations from all over the northwest.

Welcome to the 100th edition of the Hattersley & Mottram Community News. We can hardly believe we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary in January.

Thank you to everyone who has played a part in producing the Community News over the last 10 years, without all of you we certainly wouldn't still be here now.

In this issue of the Community News we promote the consultation for the new supermarket and the new community facility which is planned for the site facing the MacDonalds at the roundabout. There is also information on a Community Open Day for the new Ken Ward Sports Centre that is taking place on Thursday 8th June.

We hope you enjoy reading the April edition of the Community News.

Following the tragic death of resident David Askew in this issue we ask what could we have done, as members of this community, to prevent the torment that David and his family suffered. Over the coming months we hope to keep local people up to date with what initiatives are planned to try and address anti-social behaviour on the estate.
